Shadow in Sonic Dream Team: What the Shadow Update Adds

Shadow arrives

Shadow joins the Dream Team APK page through the game's updates, and he brings the speed hero style with his own attitude: darker stages, sharper lines, and a mini campaign of his own. For fans, his arrival is the update that turned a great game into a must replay game.

Shadow plays like a speed hero with extra edge: fast, direct, and best on time missions and score attack runs where every second counts.

The Shadow mini campaign

The mini campaign gives Shadow his own missions inside the dream worlds, with routes and challenges built around his speed. Play it after the main story, since it assumes you already know the movement types and the boss patterns.

Shadow missions reward careful boosting: save boost for long straights, cut corners on rails, and learn the stage layout before chasing times. A first slow run that learns the route beats five fast runs that guess it.

New outfits and powers

Updates also add new outfits, including Rockstar Rouge and Popstar Amy, and a very special power: the Spin Dash, usable by Sonic, Amy and Shadow. The Spin Dash turns a standing start into instant speed, which changes time missions completely. Related reading: Tails Flight Routes in Sonic Dream Team: Reach the High Paths.

Practice the Spin Dash on flat ground before using it in a mission. It is easy to overshoot a turn with it, and the best Spin Dash players are the ones who know exactly when not to use it.

Why updates matter

Updates are the reason to keep the official game installed: new zones, new heroes, new powers and new missions arrive through the store, with no file hunting. Unofficial builds never get any of this, which is one more reason to play the official game. Related reading: Dream Moons in Sonic Dream Team: Where Collectors Should Look.
