Sonic Dream Team Characters: Every Hero and What They Do Best

The full roster

Sonic Dream Team APK covers six heroes at launch, with Shadow joining through updates, and each hero belongs to a movement type that changes how levels play. Sonic is speed, Tails and Cream fly, Knuckles climbs and glides, Amy smashes with her hammer, and Rouge glides over long gaps. Learning the types matters more than learning any single level, because the right hero turns a hard mission into an easy one.

Start with Sonic for speed missions, then switch heroes when a mission asks for height, climbing or gliding. The game rewards that switching, and Dream Orbs unlock heroes in an order that teaches you each style as you go.

Speed heroes

Sonic and Shadow are the speed heroes, and they win time missions by chaining boosts and finding the smoothest line. Their controls are the simplest in the game, which makes them the best first pick for new players and the best pick for score attack runs.

Speed heroes struggle on high routes, so do not force them up ledges meant for flyers. A fast time on a flat level and a slow crawl up a wall are both the game telling you to change heroes.

Flight and power heroes

Tails and Cream fly, which opens high paths, hidden Dream Orbs and Dream Moons that no one else can reach. Knuckles climbs walls and glides, Amy clears obstacles with her hammer, and Rouge glides across gaps that end other heroes' runs.
